What is Chiropractic?

The chiropractic profession primarily focuses on disorders of the musculoskeletal and nervous systems, and how those disorders affect the everyday health and well being of a patient. Most typically, patients seek out chiropractic care for such conditions as back pain, neck pain, headaches, and joint pain associated with the arms and legs.  However, chiropractors are trained to help many other conditions besides those of the musculoskeletal system.

Chiropractic is a belief that removing any kind of irritation or interference in the body, whether caused by misalignment of the joints, muscular involvement, or another factor, will allow the body to function at its optimum and remain healthy.

The chiropractic profession is very diverse in its training and education. Chiropractors predominately treat patients by performing a chiropractic adjustment or manipulation of the joints that may be causing pain or discomfort. However, chiropractors also commonly perform therapies and treatments on the muscles and nerves associated with the ailment of the patient.
